Ambassador Dino Debeljuh Scores for Croatia

(PRWEB) May 19, 2007

A very capable diplomat, His Excellency Dino Debeljuh, The Croatian Ambassador to India, has recently been awarded the “Top Diplomat Award” by Indian Institute of Marketing & Management, according to Indo Croatian Newsletter. He has won hearts in all parts of India, may it be Chandigarh in the north or Mumbai in the west.

Efficiently supported by Niko Bulic, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, he has created a deep interest for Croatia in the Bollywood film fraternity. Dev Anand, one of the most respected of Indian film makers has traveled to Croatia twice last year to select locations for his newly planned English film. Dino Debeljuh also suggested Dev Anand to develop a story having a Croatian background with Indian characters superimposed thereon. Epitomizing the spirit of love, Dev Anand has named his Croatian venture as “When Heartbeats Are The Same”. Although Dev Anand was approached by Hungarian agencies also, Dino Debeljuh gave personal attention to him during the planning of the film and his two visits. This convinced Dev Anand to shoot his next film in Croatia only. Dino Debeljuh is so warm and accessible, he even stays in touch on vacations, says Dev Anand. The film will have a Croatian leading lady and its climax will be shot in Rovinj. The shooting may commence in August 2007.

Championing the Croatian cause, Dino Debeljuh also met a number of senior producers and directors of Indian film industry. N Chandra, who is a successful commercial filmmaker, is planning to send his latest film to Motovun Film Festival due to his interest in Croatia. Targeted at cosmopolitan audience, the movie is titled “Breaking News”. The movie has English sub titles. I am very excited to go to Croatia, said N Chandra to Indo Croatian Newsletter.

This is probably the best phase in Indian and Croatian relations. The number of tourists from India to Croatia has doubled since the last year, Bollywood has been introduced to Croatia and Indian businessmen are hopeful of investing in Croatia. All this has become possible due to better diplomatic relations between the two countries. His Excellency Rajiva Misra, the Indian Ambassador to Croatia has also given his best to improve the bilateral coordination.

Ambassador Dino Debeljuh has got many awards from well known Indian organizations. He got the “Top Diplomat Award” from Indian Institute of Marketing & Management, “Award for Outstanding Contribution To The Promotion Of The Human Rights” by Indian Institute of Human Rights and “Apostle of Peace Award” by Millionaires Trust. Under his leadership, The Croatian Embassy also won the “Best Embassy Award”. Getting so many awards in a foreign country is a big achievement, says Indo Croatian Newsletter. A certified Yoga teacher, Dino Debeljuh believes in imbibing local values to get closer to a new country’s citizens. Patronizing Indian culture, he has organized many spell binding dance performances at his residence. He has also released a book on common words between Croatian and Sanskrit.

Ambassador Dino Debeljuh has been very busy releasing books, chairing conferences, lecturing at seminars, holding press conferences and bringing Indians closer to Croatia. His vivacity and ardor have brought India and Croatia much closer to what they ever were.

Croatia Reaches 100 Million Indian Hearts through Dev Anand

(PRWEB) July 20, 2006

Croatia will soon be the heart throb of millions of Indians as it has been chosen as the film shooting location by legendary Bollywood Producer Director Dev Anand. The film named Where Heartbeats Are The Same will have a Croatian storyline and Croatian leading lady.

Dev Anand took Croatia into the Indian hearts when he announced the shooting of his new film in Croatia. Watched live by more than one hundred million Indians; he spoke emotionally to their hearts while telling details about his recent Croatia visit and his love for Croatia. Dev Anand enticed Indians by saying Visit Croatia and you will also love it.

Dev Anand is ready to start shooting for his new English film in Croatia. A Croatian Beauty will be the new international sensation, he said while revealing his plans to choose a Croatian leading lady for his film, which is tentatively, titled “Where heartbeats are the same.” Calling it a story of universal love, emotions and feelings, Dev Anand spoke passionately about his enchantment with Croatia while talking to more than one hundred media persons at a mega press conference organized in New Delhi. Dino Debeljuh, The Croatian Ambassador to India was by his side. Answering to the queries of the media, Dino Debeljuh said that Dev Anand has finished the script in a record time as he was back from Croatia barely a month ago. The press conference was telecast live for more than thirty minutes on many major news channels of India covering millions of viewers. Terming it a historic day in telling Indians about Croatia, Dino Debeljuh said that this will give a great boost to the number of tourists from India to Croatia. The press conference was scheduled to end in one hour, but it went on for three hours as the dynamic duo of Dev Anand and Dino Debeljuh kept the media engrossed in their magnificent description of Croatian beauty.

Dev Anand plans to finish shooting the film in a non stop shooting schedule of seven weeks in next four months. He will go to Croatia soon to finalize the cast and locations. He said that he has been approached by many leading Indian actors for the role of the leading male character in this film. Dev himself may play the role of the father of the lead male character. Fully charged up, Dev Anand held the hand of Dino Debeljuh, and said that Dino Debeljuh is the only person who has made this possible. Calling Dino Debeljuh the 24X7 Ambassador, Dev told the media that Dino Debeljuh used to call him to enquire about his comfort in Croatia even at midnight Indian time. He is an Apostle of the Croatian cause, Dev said. “There are so many beautiful countries, and so many helpful ambassadors, but Croatia and Dino Debeljuh are so different and warm”, Dev exclaimed.

“I have fallen in love again at 83,” Dev Anand said while describing his relationship with Croatia. He has decided to make Croatia his center for his future forays into the European film world. His son and executive producer of his films, Suniel Anand left for America tonight to explore the possibility of having some stars from Hollywood also for this new film.

Mohan Churiwala, Dev’s chief assistant director spoke of Dev’s emotional attachment with Croatia. Dev Anand was so touched by the love he got in Croatia that he has worked 18 hours a day to finish this script, Mohan said.

Naveen Sharma, the third person sharing the stage with Dev Anand and Dino Debeljuh, revealed that the story of the film revolves around the love affair of a rich Indian hero with a beautiful Croatian girl, with a strained father-son relationship as the backdrop. Eighty percent of the film will be shot in Croatia, Naveen said. Naveen is my Indian heart which I have given to Croatia, Dev Anand said. Naveen Sharma will coordinate all my work in Croatia, Dev added. Naveen Sharma is also the author of a very famous e-book on Croatia.

Dev Anand was watched by more than one hundred millions of Indians, who now know Croatia as the new Bollywood dream destination. More than seventy thousand Indian tourists visit Switzerland every year largely due to the picturisation of Swiss locations in Bollywood films. Croatia will also start getting Indian tourists in huge numbers once this first Bollywood film shot in Croatia is released.
