Bollywood Star Dev Anand is coming to Croatia on June 16, 2006. A charismatic romantic, Dev Anand is planning to shoot his next movie in Croatia. I may pick my next leading lady from Croatia, revealed the Film Producer and Director who has introduced many of today’s leading Indian actresses.
âI will go to Croatiaâ, said the youthful, lively and the most experienced Indian filmmaker of today, Mr. Dev Anand, on 26 th April, 2006 and on June 16, 2006, he is reaching Croatia. Doyen of the Bollywood film world, Dev Anand is very impressed by the Croatian beauty. Croatia is the land of âthe beautiful nature and the naturally beautifulâ, he said smiling, referring to the beautiful Croatian girls. My next leading lady may be a Croat, he hinted. He is also on the lookout for some locations for shooting of his next movie in Croatia.
Mr. Dev Anand will be visiting Plitvice Lakes, Brijuni Islands, Opatija, Motovun, Buje, Porec, Rovinj, Pula and Zagreb.
Talking about his forthcoming movies, he said that he has finished the scripts of two movies, one of which is based on the behind-the-curtain machinations in the international beauty contests. This movie will need many European actresses, said his son and fellow producer, Mr. Suneil Anand. Mr. Suneil Anand is an actor, director and producer.
Mr. Niko Bulic, President, Croatian National Tourist Board and H. E. Mr. Dino Debeljuh, Croatian ambassador to India had met Mr. Dev Anand in April and introduced him to the wonders of Croatia. âThey charmed the charmerâ, said Mr. Dev Anand while praising their efforts to promote their country. âI am going to Croatia because of both of them onlyâ, he said. He was touched by their warmth, he said.
Mr. Niko Bulic has been the leading force behind this initiative and he had met Mr. Dev Anand personally to persuade him to visit Croatia. He had also shown him the enchanting videos and photographs of Croatian locations which got Mr. Anand very interested. H. E. Mr. Dino Debeljuh, Croatian ambassador to India went to Mumbai, which is 1408 km from New Delhi, just to meet Mr. Anand and persuade him to come to Croatia.
Energetic and creative at the age of 83, Mr. Dev Anand is the father-figure of the very talented Indian film fraternity. His quest for excellence is now bringing him to Croatia, where he hopes to find some virgin and beautiful locations for shooting his new movie. Accompanied by his son, Mr. Suneil Anand, his Chief Assistant Director, Mr. Mohan Ramgopal Churiwala and Mr. Naveen Sharma, Author of an E-book on Croatia and General Secretary of âCroatia Calling Projectâ, Mr. Dev Anand is coming to Croatia for the first time.
âCroatia has been calling me again and againâ, he quipped while speaking about his many meetings with Mr. Naveen Sharma, Author of an E-book on Croatia and General Secretary of âCroatia Calling Projectâ. Mr. Naveen Sharma will help me in starting my own company in Croatia, which will be managed by my son, Mr. Suneil Anand, said Mr. Dev Anand. This company may start a sound recording studio in Croatia. Mr. Dev Anand was earlier planning to set this up in Scotland, but now he has finalized Croatia. Mr. Dev Anand has a very big recording studio in Mumbai also. More than 3500 films have been processed there.
âCelestial Joy, is the literal English translation of the words Dev Anand and Mr. Anand is a source of celestial joy and peace himselfâ, said the Croatian ambassador, H. E. Mr. Dino Debeljuh. We are very happy that Croatian-Indian relations will take a big leap with a single visit of this ambassador of love, he said. Lauding the efforts of Croatia Calling Project, the Croatian ambassador mentioned that this historic visit is taking place within seventy five days of the initiation of the first contact with Bollywood. Many more Indian film producers and directors are expected to come to Croatia in the near future, he revealed. H. E. Mr. Dino Debeljuh also mentioned the vital role played by Mr. Boris Suran, First Secretary, Croatian embassy in India, in organising this trip.
